First Class Flooring - Laminate

Laminate flooring is the perfect solution for anyone who wants a truly affordable floor which looks just like real wood, stone or tile. Laminate is easy to install, easy to care for and comes in a huge range of styles and finishes to suit just about any room.

Laminate Flooring

A laminate floor is a layered floor built around a watertight, glued High Density Fibre (HDF) board. Most laminate floors consist of four different layers:

1. A transparent, wear resistant overlay - This top layer makes your laminate floor resistant to stains, wear, impact, scratches, burns and household chemicals. It consists of several melamine layers that are pressed onto the HDF core board in a press, under high pressure and temperature. The surface layer is finished with a wood or tile texture/structure that is called 'registered-embossed'. This means that this surface structure is perfectly in harmony with the design.

2. A design layer - This is the layer that defines the actual look of your floor. The design layer is a very high resolution photo of real wood or tiles that is reproduced with highly sophisticated printing techniques and finished with melamine resin. The combination of perfect design and surface structure makes the wood or tile imitation look extremely real and natural.

3. A moisture resistant glued HDF core board - This HDF core board is the heart of a laminate floor. HDF means 'High Density Fibre Board'. It consists of refined wood fibres and high quality melamine resin. It is a re-composed wood-fibre board which allows using all part of the tree. The board is very homogenous in composition and technical characteristics. It's extremely durable, stable and highly moisture resistant.

4. A balancing layer - This moisture-resistant backing layer guarantees a perfectly balanced board that will not cup or bow when properly installed and maintained.

Advantages of Laminate Flooring

1. Wide Choice - First Class flooring can offer the right floor for every interior. Planks and tiles. Wide and small. Modern and traditional. There’s a laminate floor for every room – even your bathroom.

2. Quick installation - Installing laminate flooring is often a breeze thanks to the patented and world-famous Uniclic click system. This system is very user-friendly, a lot faster and a lot more solid than alternative systems. It makes laying easier, even in the smallest corners of the room.

3. Easy maintenance - With laminate, it’s really easy to keep your floor clean. No dirt can accumulate, as the laminate has a sealed surface.

4. Floor heating? No problem - Laminate floors can be combined with floor heating and cooling. With the right underlay and when installed floating, combining laminate floors with floor heating becomes perfectly possible.

5. Scratch resistance - The top layer of laminate floors usually has an ultra-protective layer, allowing you to enjoy your beautiful, natural-looking floor for even longer.

6. Excellent impact resistance - A well manufactured and professionally installed laminate floor gives your surface the best possible protection against falling objects, high heels, etc.

7. Splash-proof - The water resistant glued base plate and the tensile strength (pre-tensioning) of click systems provide excellent protection against surface moisture, such as spilled drinks.

8. Pleasant, solid, sound - The hard core boards used for laminate floors have been optimized for everyday use, producing a solid, pleasant sound in combination with a quality underlay.

9. No colour fading - Quality laminate floors do not turn pale when exposed to normal levels of (sun)light. So no worries, you can reorganize your furniture at all times without any risk of colour variations on your floor.

10. No annoying static electricity - Quality laminate floors are been treated with a patented, permanently anti-static surface which puts an end to annoying electrostatic discharges and attracts significantly less dust than other floors.
